Kumanana: An Afro-Peruvian musical review Gala Hispanic theatre - Now - June 25th

There is so much to say about this show and the history it depicts. This unique and captivating musical review follows the life for Victoria and Nicomedes Sant Cruz. The Santa Cruz’s greatly contributed to Afro-Peruvian culture through the dance and performances of Victoria, and the Poetry and journalism of Nicomedes. Both siblings were politically active in there own ways and both sought to highlight the afro-Peruvian experiance, particularly in the 60s, 70s, and 80, though there work has left a lasting impact today as well. In this original musical review, conceived of by the late Hugo Medrano (viva Hugo!), we learn about the life of the Santa Cruzes through their poetry, music, and dance. I cannot recommend this show highly enough. Tickets available Here.
