A classic Shakespearean tail of mistaken Identity, love triangles, and many weddings. This production of As You Like is set in Dust bowl era USA, a theme that comes through particularly strongly in the costuming and music. Think “Oh Brother where art tho” with Shakespeare. In addition to the delightful singing, the show offers audiences a break of the over air conditioned theatres they might otherwise go to, and brings you outside! To the Gersham estate in Edgewater Maryland for a lovely evening in the woods (or field in this case) with the character of As You Like it.
This show was particularly fun to light as I had an opportunity to play along with the sun and moon, as well as highlight the natural elements in the space, such as the reeds, windmill, trees, and barn.
