Among the Dead is a surreal comedic drama that jumps through time and place to tell an elegant, and at times tragic, story of love, sacrifice, and self discovery. This story centers on a young woman, Anna, as she travels to South Korea in 1975 to learn about her mother who she has never met. Things take a turn when she meets Jesus in her hotel room. He takes he on a journey that reveals the trying circumstances of her birth durring WWII as her mom, a comfort women in Japan, and her father, a U.S. soldier, struggle to survive. This is one of the most beautifully told, and complex stories I’ve ever had the pleasure to work on.
