Romeo & Juliette presented by the Classic Theatre of Maryland, what else can be said. This well known Shakespearean tragedy was performed and designed in a true classical way. The production leaned heavily in to the renaissance for inspiration, sculpting many of the scenes like Carravagio paintings. I played with the heavy saturate colors and luminous candle esk light typical of Carravagio painting throughout this show. I also used texture, color, and steep angles to heighten the mood of the show in each scene.
