Christmas Eve is a gripping drama about the nature of state surveillance, state violence, and love. Originally written in German, One translation for the title could be “Holy Night” and this may be a more appropriate tone for the ominous and suspenseful play. The Main premise is that there is supposedly a bomb set to go off at midnight on Christmas eve. Thomas believes he knows this based on surveillance he’s done on the suspected woman, Judith, and her ex husband Peter. Thomas and Judith fight for the upper hand over the course of an hour and a half before the bomb is supposed to go off, bringing up personal traumas, and having philosophical debates. The Show leaves Audiences with a lot to think about.

The overall design of the show is meant to create a feeling of tension and claustrophobia within the interrogation room. While the projections on the outter wall of the room are meant to highten the ever present pressure of time as well to present evidence Thomas has collected through surveillance.
